Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama

Friday 30 December 2005 13:00-14:00 (Radio 3)

The Serenade in B flat was written for the celebrated Vienna Court wind ensemble, or harmonie. Mozart did not hear the first performance. Such was his popularity in 1784, he was in the suburbs, supervising another concert of his music.

Playlist:

Serenade for 13 winds in B flat, K361
Manchester Camerata
Douglas Boyd (conductor)
