Wihan Quartet

26 September 2005

Monday 26 September 2005 13:00-14:00 (Radio 3)

From Wigmore Hall in London, presented by Stephanie Hughes.

The Czech Wihan Quartet celebrate 20 years together this year, and unusually for the quartet world, still with the original four players - Leos Cepicky and Jan Schulmeister (violin); Jiri Zigmund (viola) and Ales Kasprik (cello).

From early success in Prague in 1988 they have become universally acclaimed. In this concert, they play quartets by Haydn and their own countryman, Dvorák.

Duration:

1 hour

Playlist:

Haydn: String Quartet in G, Op 54, No 1
