Fiona Talkington

Ailish Tynan sings Ravel

Thursday 28 July 2005 13:00-14:00 (Radio 3)

From the Skinners Hall. Presented by Fiona Talkington. Ravel was one of the most original musicians of the early 20th century. His fascination with the exotic, and his pushing of the 19th century boundaries in his instrumental writing, can be heard in today's concert featuring his sultry Chansons Madécasses, and the true classic of 20th century piano music, Gaspard de la Nuit, as well as his piano trio.

Duration:

1 hour

Playlist:

Ravel: Chansons Madécasses; Gaspard de la Nuit; Piano Trio Am

Ailish Tynan (soprano)
Cedric Tiberghien (piano)
Christian Poltera (cello)
Alina Ibragimova (violin)
Kathryn Thomas (flute)
