Late Junction Sessions
AGF & Gudrun Gut
Sound-artist AGF and artist-composer Gudrun Gut got together to make some new tracks specially for Late Junction.
AGF (aka Antye Greie) established herself in Berlin with her atmospheric electronica, and is in demand for sound-installations as well as live gigs. She’s now based in Finland, and this was the first time she and Gudrun had recorded together.
“Hi this is AGF from Hailuoto, Finland. We used field recordings from our own construction sites in Germany and Finland. All the tracks are exclusively recorded for this. There is a song from the 80s which really fitted our theme -
It’s originally by Palais Schaumburg and is called ‘Wir Bauen eine Neue Stadt.’ ‘Our session starts with Drilling An Ocean For You.’”
Gudrun Gut is a veteran of the Berlin underground scene from post-punk to Techno. She sang in an early version of Einstürzende Neubauten, the highly influential industrial/noise band of the 1980s, and since then she’s formed her own groups and is active as a DJ and running a label.
“Hi this is Gudrun Gut from Berlin… AGF invited me to collaborate with her on this recording session for BBC Late Junction. After talking about it we quickly had a theme for the recording – Baustelle - Construction Site – ’cause we both are into house-building at the moment.”
