Omar Sosa Trio/Ilmiliekki Quartet Double Bill
Friday 3 June 2005 23:30-1:00 (Radio 3)
Jez Nelson presents a double bill from Bath's International Music Festival. Cuban pianist Omar Sosa appears with an intriguing trio featuring conga player Miguel Anga Diaz, stalwart of many of the Buena Vista Social Club albums and the acclaimed Tunisian oud player and vocalist Dhafer Youssef.
In the show's other half, the Finnish quartet Ilmiliekki make their first major appearance in the UK. Though the oldest member of the band is barely 26, their debut album March of the Alpha Males was one of the discoveries of last year.
