Free Thinking - A Festival of Ideas, 23-25 October 2009

The Sage Gateshead

The BBC Radio 3 Free Thinking Festival of Ideas took place at The Sage Gateshead over the weekend 23-25 October 2009 with speakers including Tanya Byron, David Miliband, Lionel Shriver, Dan Cruickshank and Ken Livingstone.

Even though the live events have finished, Free Thinking broadcasts continue on BBC Radio 3 into early 2010 in programmes including Night Waves, The Essay, The Verb, Words and Music and Drama on 3.

Most events will remain online to listen to for the long term. You can also catch up with what happened on the Radio 3 Blog, continue the discussions around Free Thinking on Twitter #r3thinking, watch videos from the festival on the Radio 3 YouTube channel and Winkball and see pictures from the festival on Flickr.
