Friends and Influence: Vincent d'Indy first met Cesar Franck through fellow composer Henri Duparc. He became his pupil, and quickly developed an immense respect and admiration for Franck. Throughout his life d'Indy tirelessly championed the older composer's music and it was through Franck's circle that d'Indy met Charles Bordes, the man with whom he founded the influential Schola Cantorum.
