Renowned for his lyrical poeticism and outstanding virtuosity, Artur Pizarro won the Leeds International Piano Competition in 1990. Artur performs regularly throughout the world with the leading orchestras and the world's most distinguished conductors including Esa-Pekka Salonen, Sir Andrew Davis, Charles Dutoit, Franz Welser-Most, Ilan Volkov, Tugan Sokhiev, Yakov Kreizberg, Yannick Nezet-Seguin, Libor Pesek and Sir Simon Rattle.
Artur regularly appears as a recitalist and chamber musician. As a recitalist Artur has performed at many of the world's most prestigious venues and festivals including Washington's Kennedy Centre, The Wigmore Hall, The Aldeburgh Festival, Neues Gewandhaus, Frankfurt Alte Oper, Theatre du Chatelet, Musee D'Orsay, Zurich Tonhalle, the BBC Proms, and the NHK and Orchard Halls in Japan. Artur's regular chamber music appearances have partnered him with Raphael Oleg, Christian Altenburger, Truls Mork, Toby Hoffmann, the St Lawrence and the Muir Quartets. In November 2005 'The Artur Pizarro Piano Trio' with violinist Raphael Oleg and Cellist Josephine Knight will perform at London 's Wigmore Hall performing works by Rachmaninov and Frank Bridge.
Artur Pizarro has recorded extensively for Collins Classics, Hyperion Records, Harmonia Mundi, Naxos and Linn Records. In February 2003 Artur Pizarro released a CD of Beethoven Piano Sonatas for Linn records to outstanding critical acclaim:

Throughout 2003-04 Artur Pizarro performed the complete cycle of Beethoven Piano Sonatas at St John's Smith Square in London . All 8 concerts were broadcast on BBC Radio 3's Performance on 3 and the cycle earned Artur a Royal Philharmonic Society Award Nomination for 'Best Series'. On February 1st 2005 Artur Pizarro launched a CD for Linn Records 'Reminiscences', a collection of Chopin's best loved works for solo piano. Artur's recording of Volume 1 of the complete piano works of Rodrigo for Naxos, which was released in January 05, was chosen as Editor's Choice in this April's Gramophone Magazine.
Forthcoming concerts include the debut of the Artur Pizarro Piano Trio from the Queens Festival in Belfast in October '06 in a concert which will be broadcast by BBC Radio 3, recitals at the Leipzig Gewandhaus, London's Wigmore Hall, recitals in Denmark which will be broadcast by Danish Radio, the complete Ravel Debussy Cycle in Lisbon, recitals in Bilbao, Seville Barcelona and Madrid and concerts with the London Philharmonic and Vladimir Jurowski and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra with Sir Charles Mackerras. In spring '06 Artur will release a new CD for Linn Records featuring Chopin's 2nd & 3rd sonatas. Also in '06 Artur will release the 2nd volume of the complete solo piano music of Rodrigo for Naxos and the complete Liszt Hungarian Rhapsodies for Brilliant Classics.
