BBC Radio 3 Choir of the Year
Other points to consider ...

Choirs are also encouraged to consider the following points in their programming:

Versatility
Present a programme that demonstrates a variety of styles, changes of mood or pace. If you sing a particular style of repertoire, demonstrate the range of music within that genre.

New Music
Include music written in the last 25 years. The competition encourages the development of new choral repertoire. It can also provide a fresh challenge for your choir.

Presentation
Think about how well members of your choir communicate the mood and style of the music in their stage performance whether singing from memory or from music. The adjudicators provide a set of written comments for each choir at each stage of the competition.

Travel costs

Choirs are responsible for their own travel costs at the Audition stage of the competition. There will be a contribution towards travel costs where appropriate for the Semi-finals and Final. Full details can be found in the ‘Rules and Requirements for Entry’.
