Radio 3 Choir of the Year
The Radio 3 Choir of the Year is the Oriel Singers from Cheltenham.

The Final
Two choirs from each category competed for their category title and the overall title of BBC Radio 3 Choir of the Year at The Lowry, Salford on Sunday 20 February 2005.

The results from the Final are:

BBC Radio 3 Children's Choir of the Year:
Methodist College Junior Choir - Belfast
Runners-up: Inverclyde School's Junior Choir - Inverclyde

BBC Radio 3 Youth Choir of the Year:
St Catherine Singers - Elstree
Runners-up: Farnham Youth Choir - Surrey

BBC Radio 3 Adult Choir of the Year:
The Oriel Singers - Cheltenham
Runners-up: The White Rosettes - Leeds

BBC Radio 3 Choir of the Year:
The Oriel Singers - Cheltenham


Recap of the COTY stages to date

Competition Stages
Audition Rounds: March - June 2004
Every audition produced at least one Choir of the Day in each of the categories represented. Audition spaces were limited and were allocated on a first-come first-served basis

National Selection Stage
Each Choir of the Day then went forward to a studio judging using CD's professionally recorded at the Audition Rounds. Six choirs from each category proceeded to the Semi-finals, as below:

The Crypt Choir of the King's School, Canterbury

Loughside Chamber Choir, Newtonabbey, NI

Schola Cantorum of Oxford
