Places of study: The quartet were members of the Camerata Quartet at F. Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw and the Alban Berg Quartett in Hochschule fur Musik in Köln. Royal String Quartet have also worked with the musicians from the Amadeus, Chilingirian and Guarneri Quartets.

Prizes/Accolades: Future Quartet in Residence at Wigmore Hall, starting in 2006; Borletti-Buitoni Fellowship winners (2005), third prize in Banff's 8th International String Quartet Competition (2004); special prize of the jury and the Rondo Music Magazine Award of the 1st International String Quartet Competition in Kuhmo in Finland (2004); second prize at the 7th International Contemporary Chamber Music Competition in Krakow (2003); first prize and the Grand Prix at the 9th Carlo Silva International Competition in Casale Monferrato in Italy (2000). The ensemble were also recipients of a scholarship funded by the Polish Minister of Culture and many others.

Recent highlights include: Appearance at St Giles's Church, Cripplegate as part of the James MacMillan Weekend at London's Barbican Centre, Radio 3 Lunchtime concert at London's Wigmore Hall, recitals in Warsaw's National Philharmony Chamber Music Hall, Polish Radio Lutoslawski Concert Studio and Cadogan Hall. They were guests at festivals such as the BBC Proms, Angela Hewitt'sTrasimeno Music Festival, Classique au Vert Festival in Paris, City of London Festival, Mozart Festival in Warsaw. In 2004 the RSQ performed for the Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Poland Aleksander Kwasniewski in London.

Future engagements include: Performances throughout the UK (including Wigmore Hall and LSO St Luke's in London, Bridgewater Hall in Manchester), Poland, Germany, Belgium (Palais des Beaux-Arts in Bruxelles) plus collaborations with musicians such as Ann Murray OBE, Christian Poltera, Antoine Tamestit and Angela Hewitt.

Kwartesencja Festival: The Royal String Quartet organise their own festival "Kwartesencja", which took place for the first time in September 2004 in Warsaw. The Royal String Quartet performed together with invited artists. The festival was chosen by the "Warsaw and Culture" magazine the "Cultural Event of the Year". The 2005 festival will take place from 3 to 6 November.
