![]() Alexei Ogrintchouk (oboe) Nationality: Russian Places of study and teachers: Gnessin School of Music Studies with Maurice Bourgue at the Paris Conservatoire Prizes/Accolades: Winner of CIEM International Competition in Geneva (at the age of 19) Winner of two 'Victoires de la Musique Classique' prizes in France Part of the prestigious Rising Stars programme Principal solo oboist of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra with Valery Gergiev (at the age of 20) Principal solo oboist of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra with Mariss Jansens (since 2005) Permanent consultant at the Royal Academy of Music in London (since 2001) and at the Rotterdam Conservatory (since 2003) Recent performances include: Alexei Ogrintchouk has performed concertos under conductors such as Kent Nagano, Ivan Fischer, Michel Plasson, Daniel Harding, Gianandrea Noseda, Lev Markiz, Fabio Luisi and with the world's greatest orchestras including the Orchestras of the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theatres, Orchestre de l'Academia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Budapest Festival Orchestra, the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Russian National Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic, the Moscow Virtuosi, KREMERata Baltica, the Moscow Soloists, Orchestre d'Auvergne, Norrköping Symphony Orchestra and the Stuttgart and Prague Chamber Orchestras. As a recitalist and chamber musician Alexei is much in demand and has performed throughout the world including in Théatre du Chatelet, Theatre de Champs-Elysées, Cite de la Musique, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Musikverein, Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall, Tel Aviv Auditorium and Suntory-Hall in Japan. He is also a frequent guest at festivals such as MIDEM, Lockenhaus, Verbier, Santa Cecilia, and the White Nights and Easter Festival in Russia . His recent chamber music partners have included Gidon Kremer, Radu Lupu, Thomas Quasthoff, Vladimir Spivakov, Yuri Bashmet, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, Maurice Bourgue, Sarah Chang, Nikolaj Znaider, Julian Rachlin and Sergio Azzolini. His first CD with works by Schumann was released on Harmonia Mundi "Nouveaux musiciens" Series to exceptional reviews. His discography includes the world première of the slow movement of Beethoven's Oboe Concerto (Raptus Classics), music by Britten (Record One), and Skalkottas (BIS Records).
