Biography

Born in Austria, Daniela Lehner studied in Vienna, Salzburg and at the GSMD in London. She has appeared at Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, Musikhalle Hamburg, De Singel Antwerp, the Klavier Festival Ruhr, Philharmonie Köln, as well as the Aldeburgh Festival, Oxford Lieder Festival and Chichester Festival.

Daniela has received full scholarships to study on the Ravinia Festival Young Artists Programme, Britten-Pears Young Artists Programme and the Music Academy of the West, California.

Prizes include a Georg Solti Scholarship, Prize of the Académie Musicale de Villecroze, First Prize in the Marilyn Horne Foundation Competition and a Borletti-Buitoni Award 2008.

She has recently participated in Graham Johnson's complete Schumann song recordings and has performed live for Classic FM and BBC Radio 3.

In January 2008 she made her Royal Opera House Covent Garden debut, singing the role of Hermia in Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Upcoming concerts include a Wigmore Hall recital, a recital for Linz European City of Culture 2009, NGA recitals for BBC Radio 3, concerts for Yehudi Menuhin's foundation "Live Music Now" and a recital with Mitsuko Uchida in the Philharmonie Berlin in 2009.
