Tommy Pearson presents a series of programmesfeaturing the BBC Orchestras and BBC Singers in performances of Bernstein's own musicand key works that he premiered or championed, including the music of Mahler, Messiaen, Shostakovich, Copland and Britten,including excerpts from the complete cycle of Bernstein's symphonies performed by the BBC Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Leonard Slatkin

Today the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra in performances of a Bernstein rarety and two Koussevitztky commissions that recieved their original Tanglewood premieres under the baton of Serge Koussevitzky's greatest protege, Leonard Bernstein
