Pete Fenelon, YorkGorgeous. Roy the Boy's finest moment, a song that defines a whole career.
Kefvin/CardiffI first heard Roy in about '74 and share his opinion that this is the best song from the best album by a true music genius
Liam Burns, BelfastWhat a fantastic song. I love it when one of your favourite artists (Jimmy Page) introduces you to other, less mainstream artists (Roy Harper). Roy Harper is now a permenant fixture in my CD collection. I have yet to hear a bad song. 'Same Old Rock' His best work in my opinion, I also love 'Once'
Paul Schofield LiverpoolGreat song great live an excellent example of what he does best and guitars raging along fantastic
Ian, HorwichRoy's had some incredible highs and lows (musically speaking), but this is arguably the real zenith of his songwriting. How much better do you want things to get?
alan / liverpoolnot a patch on one man rock'n'roll band-surely his finest.
Andy RobertsOf course Same Old Rock is the best song ever, but the only comment worth making right here right now is John Peel R.I.P.
Paul LiverpoolRoy Harper is what I suspect he never wanted to be "A National Treasure" although I suspect he enjoys being a little underground and under discovered. Yeah Same Old Rock and Stormcock are great and up there with the best of his canon but there is more to Roy Harper than this and the sensistivity and wisdom in his other works are truly worth investigation his gene's are pretty strong too. To paraphrase "A genius is not always appreciated by his own people".
Listen and learn and cry and laugh.
