Greatest Opening Song Lines
If you've been with us at 5 to 2 each day you'll have heard the cavalcade of songs being nominated in our search for Greatest Opening Line. The upside is that some afternoons it's been the most exciting thing on the programme; the downside is that some afternoons it's been the most exciting thing on the programme.

Just to prove there is no rigging going on inside the office, no funny business with the hanging chads, my own favorite (David Bowie: 'Baby I've been breaking glass in your room again') is not included below. We're listing the ones that have come up again and again, but this is not the final shortlist. Nominations won't close for a while because it's too much fun. So keep telling us your fave lines by emailing me or writing them up on the message board. And find out more about great songwriting with Sold on Song.
