The Radio 2 Book Club - Rivers Of London (24 January)

ABOUT THE BOOK:

ALT ALT

Since launching The Radio 2 Book Club, we've done thrillers, a historical swashbuckler, a ghost story and a book about fonts! So, we thought it high time we took our first foray into the realms of fantasy.

While police officer Peter Grant is investigating a murder in Covent Garden, he takes a statement from an eyewitness. Nothing unusual in that - except for the fact the witness is a ghost, and has been dead for 120 years.

So begins Peter's fantastical journey through London's supernatural underbelly. He becomes a trainee wizard, which makes his life a little more complicated, what with all the vampires and evil spirits he has to deal with.

Ben Aaronovitch was born and raised in London. He is best known for writing several episodes of Doctor Who, including the classic 'Remembrance Of The Daleks', as well as novels based on the series. When Ben is not writing, he works as a bookseller.
