Trocadero Wurlitzer
A site dedicated to the Wurlitzer opus 2139 formally installed in the
Trocadero Cinema, Elephant and Castle, London. The Cinema Organ Society
is currently running an ambitious project to refurbish and install this
famous instrument in the Troxy, Stepney, London. The Troxy is a Grade 2
listed former super cinema now operated as a multi-purpose entertainment
venue. It was built in 1933 as a sister theatre to the Trocadero and is
of similar size, having about 3,500 seats when it opened. The website
gives details about the relocation project and the ongoing fundraising
appeal, together with the history and specification of the Wurlitzer and
information on the two theatres.

The Cinema Organ Society
