The Wedding Present have had eighteen UK Top 40 hit singles, not bad for a band who, from its inception in 1985, stubbornly refused to play the record industry’s game. With a raft of collaborators over the years including Steve Albini, Ian Broudie (The Lightening Seeds) and legendary Rolling Stones producer Jimmy Miller, for Fuseleeds09 David Gedge turns to the BBC Big Band, directed by Steve Sidwell, to give these cult-favourite tracks a contemporary big band sound.
