WE HAVE OUR FINALISTS!
On Saturday 14 October 2006, at the Civic Hall in historic Stratford-Upon-Avon, 12 of the UK's most promising and gifted young folk acts played their hearts out for a place in the final of the 2007 BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award.
The mind-blowing standard of all the semi-finalists gave the judges a tough time, but we can reveal that the six acts going through to the final are:
David Delarre
Essex-based guitarist and member of the band Mawkin.
Ewen & Megan Henderson
Fiddle and piano duo, from Fort William in the Highlands.
Last Orders
Cumbrian four-piece who play traditional and original tunes.
Ruth Notman & Bryony Bainbridge
Guitar, violin and vocal duo from Nottinghamshire.
Wilber
Oxfordshire-based player of acoustic and resonator guitars.
Ryan Young
Traditional Scottish fiddler from Loch Lomond.

THE FINAL
This year's final concert will take place at London's Union Chapel on Friday 1 December.
