HOW TO ENTER THE 2006 CONTEST

Entry to the annual BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award competition is via a short entry form and a recording lasting no longer than 10 minutes.

The closing date for entries is Monday 12th September 2005. ENTRY RULES

  • All entrants should be aged between 15 and 20 years on 1st September 2005.

  • Entrants should live in the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales and N. Ireland)

  • Groups should not consist of more than 6 performers.

  • An individual can make a maximum of 2 entries provided one entry is as part of a group (three performers or more) and one entry is as a soloist or duo.

  • Entry forms must be accompanied with a recording lasting no longer than 10 minutes. Cassette, CD, minidisc (standard recording only) and DAT format are all acceptable.

  • The line-up on the recording must be the same as the line-up which will attend later stages if invited, and the recording must be a representation of a live performance. ALL musicians featured on the recording must be aged between 15 and 20 years inclusive.

  • Entrants should be happy to make music with people they have only just met.
