The best concert i've ever been too. Rolling Stones were my childhood band, played by my parents, my whole family went and we had a blast! Shame they didn't play 'Gimme Shelter' though

      Dan Jones
Saw the Stones last night in Caridff, what a show! The whole setup was fantastic and I was surprised with the age variance in the crowds. Hope this isn't the last chance I will get to see the Stones on home soil but if it is then i'll be happy in the fact that I was there to see it!

Saw them in Cardiff (29th Aug). The sound was very flat - it took till Sympathy for the Devil for the sound to get remotely to the acceptable level. Then it was a fantastic show till the end. Stage effects were exciting; the centre part was pulled the length of the pitch right through stalls with the 4 playing continuously. A huge inflatable mouth and tongue appeared in front of the main video screen. And there were torches and fireworks at various times. Excellent gig - a professional performance. You wouldn't have thought they've been touring for a year - even they seemed to enjoy it!

      Hugh Jenkins
Went to Cardiff Millenium Stadium last night and had an experience I will not forget. They performed as expected like true artists. Their music range from their early to their latest release. The stage was amazing and the moving stage to the rear of the stadium was great. I will not forget this experience for a long time

      Alan Burton
Saw the Stones in Twickenham last week, they just get better as they get older. Micks voice is in fine form, many "older stars" begin to lose the edge off there voice but not Mick. Keith & Ronnie were superb together and Charlie as usual drummed his heart out & never broke a sweat. Class act!

      Julie Cocking
I haven't managed to see the Rolling Stones on this tour but have seen them 3 times in the past and they are absolutely tremendous. They give their all for every single second they are on stage, and, unlike some acts, are on stage for a good length of time. They are just the best.

The first record I bought was Honky Tonk Women in 1969. Have bought every Stones album since. Saw them in Sheffield on Sunday, they get better and better with each tour, I'm still buzzing from the experience. I told my 18 year son, who was equally mesmerised by the show, that going to a Stones concert was one of a hundred things you must do before you die.

      Susan Cunningham / Tony Cunningham
We saw the stones concert in Sheffield on Sunday, as many times before they where absolutely brilliant, Mick and the guys gave a 100% performance despite the rain which didn't dampen anyones spirits, the crowd young and old just loved them.

I saw the Rolling Stones only once in London in 1971, it was for their "farewell concert" and I spent the night outside the Roundhouse to get a ticket, maybe this time, I should have gone again and see them in Paris !

I listened with delight to radio 2 stones concert, and in my humble oppinion when the stones hit that groove with every note underpinned by the rock solid timing from Charlie, aided by trusted sidemen Jones, Leavell & Keys, the horns wailing, Ronnie & Keef trading licks for fun and Sir Mick working his socks off to involve every single person in the stadium, then truly the Stones are the greatest rock & roll band in the world.

      Chelsea Blue
They may be iconic but why would you pay a fortune to see a band who, even after 40 years, haven't got a singer who can hold a note!?

      Chris
I have been an avid Stones fan since they started - after buying their first single 'Come On'. I have seen them maybe half a dozen times live, most recently at Twickenham. No doubt in my mind that they are the best band in the world by a long way. Their most recent show was superb and Jagger is a legend. Long may they continue!!

      Angie Thomson
I think all younger bands should go to a Stones concert to see how to put on a proper rock'n'Roll show. Is Mick Jagger the fittest man on earth? Went to see the concert in Glasgow and it was fantastic! People of all ages were rockin the house! Go Stones!

      Anne Long
I saw them first in 1963 and have seen them loads of times since. Saw them this time in Nice and they were rocking. Whilst they are on stage I feel young and alive. They are the greatest Rock & Roll band ever and I love them all.

      Jim
I have wanted to see the Stones for years but something always got in the way, ubtil last week when I saw them at Twickenham. I took my 12 year old daughter along who has recently got into what she calls "wrinkly rockers", we both thought they were amazing, the best show we have ever seen or heard and will drfinately be seeing them again and again. The Stones have now become her favourite band of all time I'm pleased to say as they now blare out of her stereo instead of little boy band music. THE STONES FOREVER.

      harry h
Good as ever, but Bill would have made it complete & Mick Taylors slide still sparkles brighter than Woodys !!Great all the same.

      A P Webster
I was at the Glasgow concert, it was pretty spectacular. My only slight complaint is that the Charlatans' set wasn't quite long enough. As for Keith's couple of songs on vocals, I'm afraid the best I can say is that it gave me a well-timed opportunity to go to the toilet.

      Zammo
Thought they were definitely weak...about time they called it a day!!

      Kevin Connolly
The Stones are, without doubt, the finest band ever. Only the Beatles ever came close - the 'fearsome five' have had no real rivals since the days of Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. And the amazing part is - their live concerts seems to get better with every passing decade!

      Conor,22,london
I was priveledged enough to see them live on tuesday at twickenham and I got v close. everyone went crazy as the B-Stage came out and I ran to where I thought it would stop and got within 10ft of mick! i would have prefered it if they played a few more less known songs like 'love in vain' and 'midnight rambler' both are absolute clasics. problably the last time i will ever see them live...i would highly recomend the film 'Gimme Shelter' about the stones tour of the US in 1969 including the notorious events at Altamont.

      Stourbridge Stones
Following them around the UK in ridiculous pink T-Shirts! What a brilliant show they put on. I wish I had Jaggers energy. The best live stadium performers ever!

      Mike
They sounded great, Jagger's voice very strong and lovely to hear 'Sway' with a great solo from Ronnie Wood.

      Rory Auskerry
A fantastic and lastingly great band. Still hot and still rocking. A great gig and it came accross well on the radio. Thourghly enjoyable. I only wish i could have been there!

      Mick the Greek
I saw them for the first time in the 80's at Roundhay Park in Leeds then again at Don Valley Sheffield ion the Voodoo Lounge tour. what is true is there will never be another band to come close to the Stones. Mick.

      Aylmer Carson
saw them at hampden. first time i have seen them and have to say they were brill! they just play it like it is. no pretensions, no ego, just good straight ahead rock and roll. limitless energy and loads of fun. even keith couldn't help grinning from ear to ear most of the time.

      Billy
Seen the band the last time round at Hampden Park, Glasgow. Jagger superb but musically very dissapointing.

      Sue Prosser
We saw the Stones at Twickenham this year and in 2003. They were fantastic both times. It is amazing how they manage to keep the shows so fresh and full of energy after 44 years. Everyone should be able to see the Stones at least once in a lifetime.

      Gary
It sounded great on Radio 2 last night but the sound quality at the concert itself was very poor in parts. It was nice to actually hear the guitars on the radio and to appreciate what great musicians they are. Didn't think the Glasgow show hit the heights of the 2003 Licks shows but came quite close. Long may then continue!

      Nicola Walton
Hampden was the fourth time I have seen the Stones and it was absolutely incredible! I don't know how they do it but every time I see them they get better and better. Every show is unforgettable with an amazing climax to leave you walking home with a huge smile on your face! Definately the greatest rock and roll band that will ever live!!!!

      Steve C
Saw the boys at Sheffield on Sunday, Mick is still one of the world's great front men, Keef is a national treasure, but the revelation was Ronnie,he has never played as well. The rehab obviously did the trick. No reason why they can't go on into the next decade.

      Shaggy
Was at the Glasgow gig - very good - but the sound in the stadium wasn't up to much - but what do you expect in a stadium? Also went to Nice to see them earlier in the month for my Stag Do - best gig I have ever been to by far!

      stephen cutmore
There will never ,ever be another band that even comes close to The Rolling Stones. They are the greatest!...and the fact that they still carry on playing to such a high standard and create so much fun and excitement for us as they cruise into old age , is simply amazing!.....They certainly keep me young....what more can you ask for?! Long live The Rolling Stones!!!

      Mark
Thank you so much for broadcating the show. I saw them at Twickenham, and like last night the sound was a bit dodgy at the start, but by the time they got to Ruby Tuesday the whole show just kept getting better and better. Will Mick ever remember which album "Sway" comes from? I spent the whole afternoon yesterday listening to Radio 2 - the 100 Greatest Albums and the Bob Clearmountain documentary were both excellent, and the Stones finished it off perfectly. Thanks very much.

      Linda Tiley
Fantastic! I always say I wish I'd seen them live about 20 years ago but having listened to radio 2 last night I wish I could have seen them every year for the last 20 years! And the next 20 years!! Will be on my list of things to do before I die- or they stop performing.

The Stones at Glasgow 25/08/06 At 8.30pm, the Stones came on stage and went straight into “Jumpin Jack Flash”. The crowd equally leapt to their feet with the excitement and thrill of the intoxicating music. Did they set about that with enthusiasm. This was followed by “It’s Only Rock n Roll” but we liked it! After several energy jerking hits they slowed things down and Mick & Keef came to the front of the stage. Keef played acoustic guitar as Mick sang Ruby Tuesday, it was magnificent. After about an hour and a quarter, the central part of the stage moved forward from one side of the stadium to the other where they sang several more hits starting with “Miss You”. As the stage moved back a giant inflatable Stones tongue came out above the stage and in front of the main screen. There were four other smaller screens also. After two hours the final song "Satisfaction" came to an end and simultaneously the fireworks shot out from all over. Finally, there were giant streamers which shot out over the wings and stage bringing down the curtains on a wonderful night. Jim, Durham.

      simon roseff
They have never sounded better.I first saw them in 1976 and am kicking myself for not getting a ticket this time round.Still the best live band in the world.

      Garry D
Have seen the Stones 5 times in just over 20 years and they simply get better and better. As a live act they have few equals and they have matured with age into a wonderful creative unit both as a studio and live band. Seen them in Glasgow last Friday and they did not disappoint with a spectacular stage show which only they can get away with.Listening to the show on R2 tonight was excellent from Keith Richards opening riffs which still make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up..Only one minus point was the surprise ommission of 'Gimme Shelter'from the set list - like 'Sympathy For the Devil' it is a classic despite not being one of their hit singles - but I guess you cannot have everything! Looking forward to the next tour already!

      Alan Martin
My wife feels that my admiration for Keith constitutes a serious threat to our marital status. Keep on rocking.

      Mr Raymond Paul Maung
I saw them at Glasgow Apollo in the 70s then 16 years ago at Hampden but on 25thAug they were if poss.better.Took my now 26 year old daughter&partner, they were so impressed they have bought the whole back catolouge of all Stones stuff.Amazing and still Cool.

      Alan Martin
Saw 2nd night at Twickenham and again at Sheffield. Both awesome but sound quality at Sheffield much better. The only band in the world capable of putting on shows like these. Keith is a god!. Mick was incredible at Sheffield in the rain

      benson smith
saw them in sheffield at the don valley ...driving rain but wow fantastic what legends

      Billy Smith
I was at Hampden on Friday and thought the Stones were their usual selves. Shambolic but wonderful. They always sound like they've been together 5 minutes. Keith looks on his last legs but when was the last time he didn't? Mick has the energy of a teenager. Great set. Enough unusual stuff to keep the diehards interested interspersed with the hits.

      Bridget Coleman.
I have been a fan of the Rolling Stones since they started in the early 60's. I have seen them live on several occasions, and for me they still have it and are THE BEST. Live they are exciting, and better than ever. Long may they continue to rock.

      Billy C
I was in Munich and Amsterdam for the Bigger Bang, still the greatest live band in the world. Keep on rocking!!!!!

      Dave Thoburn
They are STILL the best live act in the world.

      Lyndsey Hay
Absolutely awesome, brilliant, amazing - just simply the best ever concert I have been to - and thanks to Radio 2 my husband and I were on the stage with them in Glasgow on Friday - you too are simply the best Radio Station ever. Cheers Lynds and Garry

      Ian Smith
Just like on Bridges to Babylon the rain came down in Sheffield but it didn’t make the slightest difference and the concert was brilliant. On the Licks tour I saw the Stones at the Arena in Manchester and whilst that was good the band really come alive in the stadiums. The sight of the B stage progressing gracefully through the crowd like some pirate ship with Mick Jagger at the helm, in what looked like a red pacamac and hat, belting out Miss You will stay with me forever, as will Keith Richards wearing a skull and crossbones cap.

      Nick Hodgkins
Went to see The Stones on Friday in Glasgow, had such an amazing time. As I am not a big fan I didnt know what to expect, but it didnt take long for me to get involved with the show. It is amazing to see Mick Jagger with all that energy at his age and puttin on such a breath taking show such as the one i saw!

      John Gamble
Sheffield 27th. A great occasion as always. A bit dissappointed with the play list as many recent gems were overlooked in favour of well known earlier hits. Colossal stage set incorporating seating for some spectators and very dramatic visual effects, huge inflatable lips icluded. Shame about the rain but at least it gave us a chance to see Keith's silly hat. Very humerous at times, the lads seem happy to poke fun at themselves these days.

      Mark Latimer
I was at Hampden Park on friday 25th and it was a sensational night. Not only was the show technically stunning, both musically and visually, but there was a feeling of genuine love for what they do from the Stones. They communicated this energy to the audience who responded 100%. I saw them thirty years ago at Earls Court in London, and they were actually better on Friday night in my opinion.

      Karrina
Saw them at Hampden on Friday night they were fantastic, Mick has loads of energy. Stage set up was fab, well worth going to see!

      Louise Shield
We went to Hampden on Friday night and the Stones were amazing. We had seats on the pitch and the band stopped just beside us on the catwalk. We thought we had the best seats in the house and were glad we didn't have tickets for the stage or VIP. They just get better and better!!

      Ger
I was at the twickenham shows and both were magnificent. everyone was dancing (yes security too). Jagger is simply unique, the relentless push forward from all the band is so inspiring and the songs are timeless. what more could you ask for? any criticism seems to me so unfounded.

      Sean Graham
Seen them at Hampden on Friday, this was my third time seeing the band, thought that they were awesome ! They do live up to their Greatest Rock and Roll Band in the World title, they were superb. The band seemed to be enjoying themselves just as much as the crowd. Even Scotland don't get that sort of support at Hampden ! Thanks Guys !!!

      Terry Heaton
Didn't get to see them until 12 years ago in Sheffield when I took my then 11 yrs old. We thought they were out of this world. So them at Twickenham two years ago was in a bad part of the stadium and thought they were poor. Always thought the music rocks more convincingly than a lacklustre Mcartney. Lets face it who else is there apart from Neil Young. Knock the two together and nobody else really matters. Got to admit though I think they now need to look to do something other than tour and keep reading how much they have grossed in money. Its the music at the end of the day. It still got me hooked. I would like to see them cut somehting that really captured their essence. I think this could only be done by capitalising on Keiths one off uniquenes and leave Jagger to the side. Jagger has soemting noone else has just doesn't have the personality of Keith. If the media hadn't crucified him in the early day's things would have been a lot different. Anyway all good things come to an end. Lets hope the end is "way down the roed apiece"

      Paul
I saw them a couple of times in the mid 1970s and then 30 years later ! during the Licks Tour in 2003 and recently as part of their current tour. They are still an amazing band live, with Jagger having more energy than most people half his age.

      Jamie B
Just the best live act ever

      Rick Hoyle
Saw them last night in Sheffield - an awesome performance especially from Jagger who has always been the supreme showman. His voice was magnificent and seeme so have improved over the years.

      Carol
We saw them at Twickenham and Manchester on the last tour, and saw them last night at Sheffield. They just get better and better. Who cares how old they are, they can still turn out the goods. The energy Mick has is boundless. I just wish we could see them again tomorrow at Cardiff. If it was possible, we would be there!!

      Frederik Vandromm
Missed Barcelona and Brussels, but saw Twickenham and they surprised me. If they tour in 2007, I definitely want to see a few shows. I have a problem with journalists mocking the age of the stones and their public. What I saw was a mixed public - plenty of young people enjoying the show.

      Sarah Whitelock
I saw the Stones at Twickenham on both nights ,they are simply fantastic ,the best in the world and each time I've seen them over the years since the 70's they get better.Aslong as they perform, I will be out there rocking and rolling along with the best of them. Respect xxxxxx

      Mike King
Seen the Stones about 10 times since 1982. Playing as well (if not better) as ever. Some interesting choices within a well paced set. Excellent staging to make a genuine multimedia extravaganza - but at the end of the day that's incidental to the woderful music - Keith and Ronnie are really locked in and rocking at present.

      Richard Hide
This is the first time in 20 years I have missed a Stones concert but then I can go back to when they played in Hassocks village here in Sussex in the sixties when they were paid £640.00 for two forty minute jams. Also when Charlie Watts lived here in Lewes and I was on the next table to "The Stones" in the local Chinese Restaurant. No big we are or any of that stuff, just pure polite young gentlemen. They are the ultimate live band and Mick will go down in history as the greatest showman ever.
