  Michael Freedland travels to California, London, New York and Los Angeles on a quest to discover the truth about the real Judy Garland.
Born Frances Ethel Gumm in 1922, Judy Garland was not just the film star known for films such as The Wizard of Oz, Meet Me in St Louis and A Star is Born, but also a consumate stage performer who entranced audiences all over the world.
She remains an icon, representing something meaningful to generations of fans born long after her death in 1969.
Freedland visits both museums and the houses where Garland lived, talking to people who knew her from TV show and film producers to fellow actors and historians, and uncovering many untold stories.
