  • Radio 2 brings you full coverage of the biggest event in the theatrical calendar. Ken Bruce hosts a special Sunday night show on Radio 2.

    The event will be hosted by Michael Ball and Imelda Staunton. The ceremony will comprise unique theatrical entertainment created especially for the occasion with star guests including Ronan Keating, James McAvoy, Elaine Paige, Sir Patrick Stewart and many more.

    The 36th Laurence Olivier Awards take place at the Royal Opera House in London on Sunday 15 April.

    The Olivier Awards celebrate the world-class status of London's theatre. They are attended by international film and theatre stars and are broadcast in many countries around the world.

    Look out for the special interval performances showcasing the best of this year's musical theatre.

    The 2012 awards also see the return of the Audience Award for the Most Popular Show, decided entirely by members of the public and presented by BBC Radio 2.
