This November marks the centenary of lyricist Johnny Mercer. To celebrate this anniversary singer Curtis Stigers will be hosting a special edition of Friday Night is Music Night with the BBC Concert Orchestra, conducted by Larry Blank.

Joining him will be an array of stars from the world of musical theatre including Ruthie Henshall , Sally Ann Triplett and Nigel Harman , who will perform songs penned by Johnny Mercer from Moon River to Days of Wine and Roses. This all takes place at London's Mermaid Theatre, on Friday 13 November at 1930.

Terms and conditions

  • Lines are only open from 0900 on Monday 19 October until 2359 on Friday 23 October 2009.
  • Calls from a BT line cost the same as to 01 and 02 geographic numbers although calls from mobiles may be higher (some operators and mobiles vary).
  • The ticket allocation is open to all residents of the UK, including the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, aged 16 or over, except BBC employees, anyone connected with the competition and their close relatives. Proof of age, identity and eligibility may be requested.
  •  The tickets are free and cannot be sold. If you buy tickets from anyone they will not be valid.
  • Only one application will be accepted per person per event. If successful, applicants will each receive one pair of tickets. Multiple applications will not be eligible for selection. Please do not request tickets if you think you may be unable to use them.
  • Unfortunately we will only be able to notify you if your ticket application is successful.
  • Travel to the event, any accommodation and any other cost will be solely at the entrant’s expense and the BBC will not reimburse you for any such costs.
  • All audience members will be asked to arrive no later than 1900 on Friday 13 November 2009. Doors open at 1830 and the show is live to air at 1930.
  • Entrance is subject to capacity. The BBC reserves the right to refuse admission.
  •  The BBC reserves the right to cancel this event and ticket process at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, and if circumstances arise outside its control.
  • Should the event be cancelled or line-up changed, The BBC is not liable for any loss of money and expense incurred in travelling to the venue.
  • The BBC may record and film the performance. By accepting tickets applicants agree to such recording being broadcast, should BBC Radio 2, at its own discretion, decide to do so.
  • The BBC, its sub-contractors, subsidiaries and/or agencies cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or malfunction or any other problem with the Internet or otherwise which may result in any application being lost or not properly registered.
