Imagine: your stories about meeting your musical hero

WHAT IS IMAGINE?
Freddie Mercury Imagine is a national competition for new short form drama for Radio 2.

The theme was this - Imagine an encounter with your own music legend and use it to create imaginative, original drama. Be funny, be bold, tell a great story in less than 10 minutes.

We asked you to turn your dramatic ideas into a radio drama between three and ten minutes long and it could be broadcast on the Mark Radcliffe show in the autumn! The competition closed at midnight Friday 2 June. Also, check out our FAQs for all the help, and advice you need to write a drama.

What we wanted from you -
:: Imaginative dialogue
:: Bold ideas
:: Original scenarios

Remember - you can meet anyone, be anyone, go anywhere, do anything!

We wanted life changing experiences. Was your hero as you expected? What happened afterwards? Perhaps your musical hero is someone out of the public eye - has your granddad inspired a love of the blues? Where does that busker go when he finished his shift in the shopping centre? What would happen if Buddy Holly met Johnny Rotten? Janis Joplin hung out with James Blunt? Ozzy Osborne's tour bus got lost somewhere around the Gower peninsula?
