 As part of the Great British Music Debate 2004, we'll be catching up with singer Lucie Silvas and finding out how she's fared on the UK music scene.
Six months ago Zoë Ball went behind the scenes of a major UK record label to discover just what it takes to launch a new artist such as Lucie.
Zoë discovered how many people it takes to get a new singer-songwriter to the top of the charts and in a four part mini-series, Zoë followed Lucie through the complete 'star-making' process. She talked to Lionel Richie and Judie Tzuke about life in the fast lane and she discovered how you go about landing a record deal and recording your debut single.

Now the single’s been chosen Lucie Silvas’ record company has the job of promoting her to the press, TV and Radio. Zoë goes behind the scenes at a Radio 2 playlist meeting to get the producers' reaction to her first single. Meanwhile Lucie gets some advice from some famous friends.
'Breakin' Through', part 4
The last piece in the puzzle for Lucie Silvas is her live performance. A carefully planned tour with Jamie Cullum introduces her to the record company's target audience.
