Daz Sampson: The story so far...
Daz Sampson is a massive Eurovision enthusiast and as an established songwriter and MC he is a unique and exciting entrant for the UK.
Daz started his music career as a mobile DJ and found fame as the MC in Bus Stop. Bus Stop's debut single Kung Fu Fighting featuring Carl Douglas sold 250,000 copies in the UK and was a major international hit. Four hit singles and two albums later they split and Daz formed the duo Rikki & Daz with John Matthews. Their single 'Rhinestone Cowboy (Giddy Up Giddy Up)' reached number 12 in the UK.
Next came Uniting Nations, the dance partnership which launched the hit single 'Out Of Touch' which sold over 100,000 singles in the UK, and was massive in the club scene. With the singles and album that followed Daz proved that he could write winning hooks, as well as perform them. Uniting Nations reputation as one of the UK's leading commercial dance acts was sealed when Smash Hits readers and T4 viewers voted them Best Dance Act at the last ever Poll Winners Party in 2005.
Now Daz is back in the pop scene and his greatest ambition is to win the Eurovision grand prix for Britain. If 'Teenage Life' is as big with the European votes as the British he could be heading for another success to add to his already impressive CV!
