Lordi from Finland Oh Lordi, what fun!

Since Lordi were chosen by the Finnish public to represent their country at the Eurovision Song Contest, they have become the most talked about entry in the contest.

They've been featured in the Sunday Times newspaper, on the front page of the International Herald Tribune and all over the web. As far from a sweet Finnish folk band as is possible, the Herald Tribune reported that Lordi have been known to blow up slabs of meat on stage.

When faced with the backlash from an anti-Lordi group in Athens, Lordi himself, Tomi Putaansuu, admitted that he believes the Finnish people have 'low self esteem'. The band, who play heavy metal music, will perform 16th during the semi-final on May 18th and depending on that result may go through to the grand final.

We can't wait to see their performance, and if you don't want to miss it either we'd recommend you are in front of BBC Three with a nice cup of tea at around 9.30pm on the 18th of May. Perhaps this will mark a change in Eurovision entries... forever?
