Lordi Finns Klingon to win!

It was clear after the first few countries had delivered their votes that Lordi were on a one-way ticket to Eurovision victory.

The monstrous looking band have been the talk of the contest since they were first chosen to represent Finland. While there was controversy and some displeasure on home turf, the rest of Europe have taken the Hard Rockers to their hearts and voted them way ahead of the rest despite the usual collusive voting from Eastern European nations.

We recieved hundreds of emails from viewers who were backing Lordi all the way. The British vote was with the winners. Congratulations Finland.

On winning Lordi told us, 'This is a victory for rock music and for open-mindedness. This is proof that there are rock fans watching Eurovision. Maybe in the future we'll see rock bands, metal and hip hop'.

Quite how this will affect next years' contest remains to be seen. More monsters, less ra-ra skirts? We're sure it can only be a good thing.
