At the start of 2001 Kym Marsh was an unknown singer from Wigan , a year on Kym had undergone a meteoric rise to fame with Hear'Say after winning ITV's talent contest Popstars. Hear'Say shot straight to the top of the charts with their first single 'Pure and Simple', which sold over 500 000 copies in its first week. A hit album and a sold-out 36 date nationwide tour followed before Kym decided to go it alone.
By the end of 2003 Kym had racked up two solo hit singles and an album. In 2004 Kym took to the boards, starring in the West End production of Saturday Night Fever to rave reviews. Displaying further strings to her bow, Kym has since played roles in BBC 's Holby City and Doctors, as well a stint as a panellist on ITV's Loose Women.
