Javine:
The story so far...
In what was probably the best Eurovision selection show ever, RnB star Javine proved that she has what it takes to take the UK all the way to Kiev!
Born on December 27th 1981, Javine Hylton grew up with her mother and sister in West London's Ladbroke Grove. Aged ten Javine was offered an arts scholarship, and modeling and pop video appearances followed. In 1999 Javine won a star role in the West End production of Disney's 'The Lion King'.
In 2002 Javine attended an audition that would change her life. On 'Popstars: The Rivals' Javine was a huge hit with viewers. However, in a nail-biting final and to the amazement of the nation, Javine was not selected to be in the group that was to go on to become Girls Aloud.
Within days of the final show offers from some of the UK's biggest labels were on the table. Within months 'Real Things', a major airplay and chart hit, kicked off a run of four hit singles.
Javine returned in February to compete against Katie Price, Tricolor, Gina G and Andy Scott-Lee for the opportunity to represent the UK at Eurovision. A breathtaking performance of 'Touch My Fire' saw Javine romp to victory, and have her very own 'wardrobe malfunction' whilst performing the winning song!
Javine can't wait to get to Kiev and says "to see all these different countries coming together on one night and hear all their different influences will be a great and intense experience. I'll be taking the audience on a fantastic ride!"
