Guildo Horn It was also in 1998, when the UK hosted the contest, that German singer Guildo Horn decided to use the entire set and scenery for his performance. It certainly was a memorable year! |

Bandido This was Spain's 1990 entry, sung by Azucar Moreno, which included a false start and confusion at the beginning of the contest. |

Brotherhood Of Man Who can forget that great dance routine and those flared jumpsuits. It was, of course, a winning performance for the UK in 1976. |

Riverdance This has to be one of most specatacular interval acts of Eurovision's history (from Ireland in 1994), and it was so successful that it went on to become a show in it's own right that now tours across the world. |

Memorable Moments Between them they've notched up a few Eurovision Song Contests over the years, so we asked Terry Wogan, Ken Bruce and Radio 2's Eurovision producer, Paul Walters for their cherished Eurovision moments. This is what they said...
Terry Wogan "Favourite and most memorable was the Eurovision from the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin in 1971 - my first Eurovision. Not more than five hundred people in the audience and only about half the entries that we have these days...
Also, Luxembourg at the height of the Black September terrorism when the floor manager addressed the audience just before the programme started and said: 'Please remain seated when applauding, anyone that stands up is likely to be shot'!" |
Ken Bruce "Watching interval act Guillaume Tell in Switzerland fire 20 crossbows and completely miss the apple! Also, watching the UK win in 1997, and seeing Terry Wogan walk into a hotel lobby in Dublin and have their Prime Minister stand up to acknowledge the Great One's presence. He's royalty you know." |
Paul Walters " After an ill-advised attempt to leapfrog a postbox in 1983, I had the pleasure of producing Terry's Eurovision show from Munich with two broken arms - an experience I shall never forget!" |
