Martin is so relaxed when playing he really is a master. Shame the plugged in sound of his guitar is so plastic'y. Wish he was just using a mike, but I guess you can't have everything?

Re tintinmacrae's comment on his guitar sound:

His guitar sound really spoils it for me. I heard Lakes Of Ponchartrain yesterday on BBC R2 and I thought he was playing an Ovation, because it sounded so, well, Ovationy - plasticy / fibre-glassy (is that what they make Ovations from?). I don't know if it's the guitar, an effect or whatever, but it sounds unlistenable to, to me, I'm afraid. I'm not too keen on his vocal style, either! But I like his playing. I saw him with Martins4 a few years ago, and he was very good (as were the other three Martins).
