I thought she was going to be fantastic but she seemed so grumpy - the piano wasnt right, the microphone was too wobbly for her and the music was so dull. I have seen her many times - at the Mac in the round at birmingham v atmospheric and lovely but here she just seemed like a prima donna and i didnt think it was of her best at all.

the wailing of the backing singers didn't help what i thought was quite a tedious song anyway.

While I admit I was forced to miss Beth's Saturday night performance due to ill health, I have seen parts of it on video and have had the pleasure of seeing her MANY times in concert before and the very idea of Beth being "grumpy" or acting like a "Prima Donna" I just cannot believe. If the equipment - keyboard etc - was not set up correctly, that was not Beth's fault, but I presume due to the quick 'change-over' of artists on-stage on Saturday night. I did however manage to attend Beth's Songwriting/Creativity Workshop on Sunday morning and it was the most inspirational event I have ever experienced. I feel privileged to have been there. Beth is no Prima Donna, she is a lovely, warm human being with a talent for songwriting and singing which I have never come across before in almost 66 years. Beth, you made me a very 'HAPPY GIRL'on Sunday! Thank you. Helen :-)

And by the way BBC, Beth's most recent release is not 'LOOK', but 'PRISM', a 2 disc album released last year on which Beth sings some songs in English on Disc 1, but on Disc 2 sings in NINE different languages. A work of extraordinary achievement by a truly remarkable artist. Continued gratitude for the inspiration Beth. Helen :-)

I actually thought it was a lovely performance overall with a good variety of songs! To me Beth came across as being a v down to earth, honest and passionate person and I think she did well considering there were so many issues regarding the sound and balance, which would be slightly unsettling for any performer!

I'm loving the comments my posting generated. Its good to see so many coming to Beths defence - however I'd like to add I've seen her 4 times in the UK - once "in the round" at the Mac in Birmingham - outside and very atmospheric. Yes she is warm and lovely and I've had the privilege to meet her but I stand by my comments that the performance was definately lacking!
