Kate from the Radio 1 webteam gives you a blow by blow account of the night's proceedings via Twitter:

  • 20:59 - The band say their goodbyes and claim they are professionals at this sort of thing... We've certainly loved having them here!
  • 20:58 - Liam calls Daniel P Carter our rock show presenter Dave Lee Travis when plugging his show - maybe presenting isn't QUITE for him after all
  • 20:53 - The boys play Rage Against The Machine who they reckon are the best festival band EVER
  • 20:52 - Keith points out that Maxim and Liam have very big families who probably texted in lots
  • 20:50 - In a last minute changearound, Liam wins!!!
  • 20:50 - Mr Flint came third - 'these boys are true champions in my eyes'
  • 20:48 - Just been into the studio to take some more pics - the general feeling is that Keith and Liam have been 'sparko'd' (that means lost)
  • 20:41 - Maxim is coming back like Joe Calzaghe - 'Vote For Maxim!'
  • 20:37 - Flinty claims he has delivered the winning blow with that track - it was the track that built the band so it's cheating a bit
  • 20:37 - Steve Lamacq's producer has just come into the Live Lounge - 'I don't know how the hell we're going to do our show off the back of this?!'
  • 20:36 - Keith is up first in The Prodigy soundclash with Meat Beat Manifesto 'Radio Babylon' - he reckons it's a winner - 'Bring it on!'
  • 20:34 - Can we stop talking about speedos please?
  • 20:34 - Reaction to tour names: The Three Wise Men Tour - 'They're not wrong!'
  • 20:31 - FYI, Maxim takes the sitting down approach to DJing, Liam stands up and Keith is a fidget and does both.
  • 20:24 - There is worrying talk of the boys in speedos... Let's move on and listen to some Big Daddy Kane shall we?
  • 20:18 - Keith on nights out in the UK: "The End ended me, you know"
  • 20:17 - Liam admits he'd be quite up for doing another Dirtchamber album - wicked!
  • 20:10 - Justice - 'a couple of slick French dudes'. Can't say fairer than that really
  • 20:09 - Maxim's (faux) fur coat is the perfect accessory for these winter months.
  • 20:00 - There's me thinking that for once there's no booze in the studio but a mole tells me that they are drinking champagne in paper cups
  • 19:44 - The boys threaten to join him on his holiday in New Zealand rather than go on tour. He doesn't sound that chuffed
  • 19:43 - Uh oh it's Zane checking in on his own show... luckily he thinks the show sounds good...!
  • 19:31 - Keith lets us know how sad he is to be leaving us in the cold while the band jet off to Auckland
  • 19:30 - The band play new track 'The Omen'. Liam's taken his hat off in preparation
  • 19:15 - The boys are really getting into the On Boards - SHAZZAAAAA!
  • 19:05 - Keith seems to be enjoying Chase & Status - some serious head nodding going on
  • 19:00 - It's 7pm! Pete introduces the boys... They promise some exclusives and an old skool soundclash - yes!
