Sam from the Radio 1 webteam gives you a blow by blow account of the night's proceedings via Twitter:

  • 20:55 - Friendly Fires sign out with Wu Tang for Westwood, and a bit of Burt Bacharach for us all
  • 20:50 - More questions - favourite Oasis song is Live Forever, Ed prefers blonde, and Jack's favourite food is fried mars
  • 20:46 - It's the winter warmer track. Ed's a fan of bleak weather - not rain mind you! Just snow, and ice. So now you know
  • 20:38 - Florence (her with the machine) won't answer her phone, so they can't talk to her! They play Wild Beasts instead
  • 20:23 - More audience questions - they don't like Top Gear, they'd bring Barry White back from the dead, and they love Pokemon and Suspicious Minds
  • 20:15 - Jack went to see Mogwai in the 90s at a BBC session, and John Peel signed his travelcard. So they play a track from that session.
  • 20:07 - There's a story behind Wyclef - Gone Til November - Jack's mum went out and bought it for him, but bought the wrong version! Bless
  • 20:04 - What are in Friendly Fires pockets? A train ticket, a 2p piece, and some fluff!
  • 19:48 - Yannis from Foals is on the phone talking about his new dungeon...
  • 19:40 - The band take questions from the texts. They're touring soon, they wear boxers with the labels out, and ok they'll marry you when they're 40
  • 19:37 - Ed explains he doesn't normally like mega-hyped US bands, but the Deerhunter track they're playing is amazing
  • 19:30 - A stunning Zane Lowe impression from Edd (guitarist) to introduce this week's hottest record, by some band called Friendly Fires
  • 19:27 - The band attempt at a video description commentary over the beginning of Michael Jackson - Black & White
  • 19:20 - The band keep getting texts from their friends and family, including Ed's one-year-old nephew!
  • 19:13 - Jack knows all the words to the breakdown in Warren G & Nate Dog - "the rhythm is the bass and the bass is the treble"
  • 19:06 - Ed (singer) is dancing like an actual running man, to Good Life by Inner City
  • 18:58 - Friendly Fires are ready to go .... they're all wearing shirts. One of the Eds is wearing a nice waistcoat
