      What a rat race! It might be considered worthwhile if even 50% of the playlist had any musical merit. Comedy Dave has it right... "Ohhh, no one cares." Just as well the DJs are entertaining, especially Sara Cox.

      I've listened to Radio 1 almost every day from 6.30am to 6.30pm since about 1983 and it's been great to eventually find out what music is picked and played. Good work Radio 1 (Aled, your so suited to this kind of presenting)

      ok not watched the video as I'm in work :P but i listen to radio 1 from 8am til around 3/4ish, and i can't help but notice that songs get repeated often throughout the day. for example today on Fearne's show Winter Winds was played (no complaint there, gorgeous song), followed by that Miami Girl thing. and Greg just played those two songs too?

      Laura White recently released a great single but i don't think it was put on the play list... i'm just wondering if an artist has to be with the big record companies to get played ?

      The selection process is more concerned with what might be cool than with what might be good.
      Radio 1 is too biased towards urban music (which 1extra ought to take care of)
      Sort out the music policy, guys.

      Totally fascinating. I used to work for a radio station, so I find it really interesting to see the behind the scenes processes and decisions that have to go on. Please show more of how the desk is driven during a show.

      Well if you watched the video and actually paid attention not all shows go by this playlist, other shows have free rule and they provide a basis for what goes into this playlist so its not biased in that respect;

      Also if you listened to Aled on Chris Moyles and the girl in the meeting mentioned it too they 'spot play' songs and see how people react in texts etc so if you don't like what's being played then give feedback, the BBC aren't going to hear you sighing at the radio text or email them!

      I love Radio 1 and love what they are doing, Chris and Aled, and Jo Whiley are my favourite people on Radio 1 keep up the great work!
