Get to Know Kelly Osbourne
Kelly burst into our lives and onto the telly in the MTV series The Osbournes. There’s much more to this girl than what you saw on the show though: “You’re only seeing 24/7 of my life edited into 20 minutes.”
Kelly knows the show was a lucky start for her: “I owe everything to MTV, because they gave me a start in this world. But at the same time the filming hurt because I was being perceived in a certain way.”
Changes, the duet Kelly recorded with her dad Ozzy went to number one in the UK and her TV credits include Project Catwalk and I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here… NOW!
Kelly’s had a go at modelling, stepping into the shoes of Naomi Campbell and Mischa Barton to front the Accessorize campaign: “The funniest thing was getting signed to a modelling agency. Me! The person they called fat in the media!”
If she’s sounding a bit busy here, the Prince’s Trust charity has also made Kelly an ambassador: “I truly believe that charity begins at home and The Prince’s Trust does just that – throughout the UK it helps young people to have a second chance. I know what it feels like to be lost so whatever I can do to help I will.”
Her mum’s charity The Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Programme also gets Kelly’s backing. Sharon set it up after recovering from cancer herself. “To watch the person you love most in the world go through so much suffering and pain is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. It was one of the worst things I have been through in my life. There are thousands of people around the world who also go through that pain so anything I can do to raise money for this cause I will.”
Kelly has set up her own production company which she wants to use as a way to reach out to people her age.
