 FAME ACADEMY : TIPS
Finding people to work with

Treat adverts as a last resort. Ask your friends. Go to places where people who like your kind of music will be - gigs or clubs. If you go with a group of mates, you'll probably meet new people and one of them might be right.

Evening classes, summer schools and other courses are great paces to find other musicians. Even if you don't learn anything (and you almost certainly will!) you might meet some useful people.

There are loads of places you can advertise. Music shops, studios, colleges and universities often have message boards. Use them. Try local papers, listings magazines and see if there are any websites where people advertise in your area.

Internet forums can be better places than adverts to meet people. You get to see peoples' thoughts, rather than a few words in an ad. If you see someone who posts things you like the look of, drop them a line and see if they're a player.

If you're advertising, make sure you mention where you live, what instruments you'd like people to play, how old you are and what your influences are.

If you're meeting people ALWAYS meet in a public place, never someone's house. Make sure someone knows where you're going and what time to expect you back. Don't give out your address or phone number until you've met the person.

Do you have any more tips???
Tell us them and we'll put the best online.
