Prefuse 73 is one-man production powerhouse Guillermo Scott Herren.
Previous Prefuse 73 output includes; debut album 'Vocal Studies and Uprock Narratives'; 2003's 'One Word Extinguisher' album; and the 'Extinguished: Outtakes EP'. 2005 now sees the prolific producer move further onwards into uncharted sonic territories without stopping to pause for breath.
Prefuse 73 met all the artists and collaborators featured on his new 'Surrounded By Silence' album whilst touring and recording during the past two years.
The cast list, roughly in order of appearance, is as follows: Ghostface, El-P, Tyondai Braxton, Claudia and Alejandra Deheza from On!Air!Library!, Nick Zammuto and Paul de Jong, also known as The Books, Camu, James Rutledge, Kazu, Aesop Rock, Masta Killa, GZA, DJ Nobody, Piano Overlord, Broadcast and Grammy Award winning Mexican alt-rockers Café Tacuba.
The first single from the album, 'HideYaFace' is out on February 21st and you can catch Prefuse 73 will perform at The Scala on Thursday 7 April 2005, with a full band. DJ Kieran Hebden aka Four Tet supports.
