01 Introduction
There are two reasons to soundcheck. One is to get a good sound for the audience. The other is to get a good sound on stage, for the band. It's hard to decide which is more important. Having a crystal clear out-front sound is no good if the music is suffering because you can't hear each other.

Here you'll find tips to help you get the best sound you can, including:

  • In small venues
  • In bigger venues
  • The engineer and keeping them happy
  • Using the time effectively
  • On-stage sound
  • Choosing songs to soundcheck
  • Order of soundchecking
  • When things run late
