Y Diwigiad

Daedelus and Y Diwygiad in session

Huw is pleased to welcome Daedelus and Y Diwygiad to Maida Vale for this weeks OneMusic session.

According to his myspace page, LA electronic wizard Daedelus sites his main influences as Wales and Victorian Dandyism.

Being a man of the twenty-first century, Huw wasn't up on his Dandyism but could help on the Welsh front. He hooked Daedelus up with the finest hip hop artists from Wales, Y Diwigiad.

The resulting session is what happened when Daedelus and Y Diwigiad collaborated in our Maida Vale studios, having never met before.

Y Diwigiad are Ed Holden and Aneirin Karadog. They're renowned for their multi-lingual performances in Spanish, French, English, Breton and Welsh.

They say their sound ranges from a traditional, Celtic version of Cypress Hill while at other times they're all about the FAT beats.

Daedelus's last album 'Denies the Day Demise' has been described as "electro-tropicalia"

So if you like your multi-lingual hip-hop fused with "electro tropicalia" - listen up!
