Why credibility is so important to them
 |
Considering he was involved in a nasty brawl a month or so back, Jason Stollsteimer is looking very well indeed. So what really happened between him and Jack White?
Sadly, he can't talk about that recent incident that led to him receiving a nasty bump on the side of his face...but he can, along with bassist Carrie Smith, tell us about the making of The Von Bondies critically lauded album 'Pawn Shoppe Heart' and why credibility is so important to them.
|
"I don't want to think about that. I just want people to hear our music. It's gonna blow them away." |
Do you worry that the recent press coverage will overshadow your music?
Carrie: "It is a bit of a worry. But we've put that behind us and we're moving on. I don't want to think about that. I just want people to hear our music. It's just gonna blow them away."
Jason: "I'd be more worried if our record sucked. Which we don't think it does."
|
Did it measure up to your expectations?
Jason: "We weren't bothered so long as it didn't sound like it was recorded in a paper box..no really, it's exactly what we wanted. We had time to give the songs justice which we didn't with the last record where we only had two days to record it."
Carrie: "I'm really, really excited about this album. The whole process of making it, from working with Jerry Harrison (Talking Heads guitarist) and Warners has been a great experience."
