This month's label is hardcore mash up pioneers Deathchant Records Listen to a Deathchant mix
 |
The label is the sole responsibility of DJ Hellfish and began life in 1994. Whilst Deathchant have released a plethora of records from artists entitled Secret Squirrel, Undercover Elephant, Narc and Minister So Sinister, little is actually known about the inner workings of the label. Not content to let the underground remain underground, the Peel Team hired a private detective to find out more about the label.

Line of questioning:
Found a man who knew a man who once knew a woman who knew another man who knew someone who sold a record middle to DJ Hellfish. Through this line of contacts I managed to establish myself as a mole in the hub of Deathchant Records.

Report 1 - DjHellfish / Case No. 5418554
An experimental hybrid project developed jointly by the English company 'Bog Slag Killer Kartel' and the Cantonese 'Mwuitt Hwor Slukkus Department' based in Balikpapan . Unfortunately for mankind a genetic mutation in its developmental stage caused the almost hideous disfigurementation, unnatural physical strength and freakish co-ordination capabilities.
Unforgivably Hellfish escaped from his sedation unit in 1987. Claims since that he's been practicing the art of turntabalism and of links with various underground record labels remain to be proven. Most of the original scientific team express doubt that he could co-exist with the general public and more likely to be hiding in a cave somewhere in central Asia.
Any sightings are to be reported immediately to the U.N.G.R.U. (United Nations Genus Recapture Unit) 00 44 020 111 111
