Other honerable North West mentions obviously The Verve and Chester's finest (well only) Mansun are class as well

The whole scene that kicked off in Manchester in the late 80s early 90s was amazing but the Beatles are easily the greatest band in the whole world not just the north.

i first went to go see oasis when i was 13 just before they released their second album, they played dont look back in anger and i remember thinking that it was going to be a standout track on what i thought was gonna be a heavy album. last year i went to the V festival and right at the end of their set, oasis played dont look back in anger and all i remember when i was standing their listening to that song was how much everything had changed since that night in the centre of manchester. deep stuff right
