angelic upstarts are the best band to come from the north east without a doubt! radio 1 need to get them on this week. they were one of the bands that started oi music.

for a more recent north east band I think maximo park are amazing, there innovative mix of punk and pop makes their album truly unique and Paul the lead singer's accent and live delivery makes me think of home when I'm not there! Rock on the North East!
