Wednesday 3rd June - Miss Black America

MISS BLACK AMERICA formed in October 1999 when singer Seymour Glass met bassist Mickey Smith and drummer Neil Baldwin at a drum 'n' bass gig in Cambridge. Guitar genius Gish joined the band in October 2000, when Seymour's finger got ripped off his hand.

Their debut EP, 'Adrenaline Junkie Class-A Mentalist', was released in May 2001. This was followed in the October by 'Don't Speak My Mind' on Dental Records. Both songs were voted into John Peel's 2001 Festive Fifty, at 14 and 42 respectively. They also recorded a session for the show which went out last July.

Since then the band have signed to Bedford-based Integrity Records and released two singles 'Infinite Chinese Box' out in March 2002 and 'Talk Hard' in May. This is the band's second session for the show.
