Ibiza '99 Ibiza Home

There are plenty of phones around the island that take cash or phone cards (Spanish ones). Credit card phones don't seem to have made it onto the island yet, but if you have a trusty old BT Chargecard then you're home dry, however don't forget you'll need to use the international number.

To dial back into the UK the code is 00-44 followed by the number you want omitting the first zero. For example if you want to phone 0171 234 4567 from Ibiza you dial 00 44 171 234 5678

Most hotels tend to have a phone in the room that will allow you to make international calls. Watch out though, as the charges are quite high.

If you're in an apartment or villa the chances are the owner will have either removed the phones or cut the connection whilst they are away so don't count on having a working phone.

If you have a GSM mobile then you're in luck, they work in Ibiza. If you are calling your friend's mobile phone that is also in Ibiza you must dial back into the UK first, regardless of where they are. So if your mate is on phone number 0410-123456 and is standing next to you in Ibiza, you will have to dial 00-44-410-123456 to call him.
