Glastonbury 2003

Avoid shagging after the 2nd night
The Flaming Lips Name: Neil Tingay
About me: I'm a happy-go-lucky miserable b*stard who first went in 1992 and didn't really know what to expect, but wandered into the world of trucks, generators and techno. Ideal.

Glastonbury Tale: "It was either '94 or '95 (but it was a hot one) and I'd had a heavy night on the cider and 'additional' items. It must have been late (God, this is vague) and I was wandering between the cider bus and the meeting point (where there was the milk bar and a bit of a rave going on). Suddenly a fire engine appeared (a real one) with fireman hanging onto the sides throwing shapes to the tunes! It was both a surreal and highly amusing moment."

Survival Tips: Don't lose your weed. Don't drink warm beer. Avoid shagging after the 2nd night.

Best Glastonbury moment: Orbital 1995 NME Stage headline show to highlight why no one needed guitars anymore.

Worst Glastonbury moment: '97 was muddy, '98 pished it down.....left early swearing at kids turning up to see Robbie Williams.

Must see band 2003: Flaming Lips at dusk on the Pyramid...followed by Radiohead.
